Brier City Council Minutes

Mayor Kaske called the regular Brier City Council Meeting prior to Workshop to order at 7:37 PM, and the flag salute was given.

 

Roll Call:

Present:            Councilmembers Starks, Jordan, Morgan, Gipson, Doolittle, and Warner.

Absent:            Councilmember Colinas.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Kaske opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of May 14, 2002. Councilmember Jordan, moved and Councilmember Gipson, seconded to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of May 14, 2002. Motion carried.

 

Hearings:

Mayor Kaske stated the next item was for Public Hearing regarding the Zilverberg Right-of-Way Vacation Petition. Mayor Kaske opened the Public Hearing on the Right-of Way Vacation Petition for Timothy Zilverberg for a portion of 219th Street SW for a private access road to Short Plat No. SP01-01. Councilmember Gipson, moved and Councilmember Jordan, seconded to close the Public Hearing on the Right-of-Way Vacation Petition for Timothy Zilverberg. Motion carried.

Mayor Kaske opened for Council discussion and consideration of the Right-of-Way Vacation Petition. Councilmember Warner disclosed, he is a neighbor of the applicant, and he had not reviewed the discussion and moving on Resolution #464, because of this Councilmember Warner excused himself from participating in this action. There was Council discussion on the Right-of-Way Vacation Petition. Councilmember Jordan moved, and Councilmember Doolittle seconded, to adopt Ordinance 303, granting Right-of-Way Vacation on Silver Mountain Estates Short Plat Application No. SP01-01, by Timothy Zilverberg, contingent on approval of the Short Plat Application. Motion carried.

 

Unfinished Business:

Mayor Kaske opened for the continued consideration of Silver Mountain Estates Short Plat Application No. SP01-01 by Timothy Zilverberg. Dick Russell spoke about the suggestion of making the pathway as handicapped accessible. He stated that it would be extremely difficult to construct it as handicapped accessible. Mr. Russell recommended that the wording of “handicapped accessible” be struck from the Resolution. There was Council discussion with Dick Russell regarding the design of the path. Councilmember Jordan moved, and Councilmember Doolittle seconded to adopt Resolution #464, granting Short Plat approval for plat application #SP01-01, with revision to 12 GG, striking “handicapped accessible”, change the word “asphalt” to “chips”, delete the wording “with four (4) inches of crushed rock and two (2) inches of Class B”, and in Subsection “U” to revise “4 of 5” to be read; “sheet 4 of 5 dated May 21, 2002”. Motion Carried.

Councilmember Jordan moved to adjourn. Motion carried, and the regular Brier City Council Meeting prior to Workshop adjourned to Workshop at 8:18 PM.
