Brier City Council Minutes

June 27, 2006



Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the flag salute was given.

 

Roll Call:

Present:            Councilmembers Krienke, Nick, Kaemingk, Gem, and Morgan. Councilmember Gipson arrived at 7:33 PM and Councilmember Corpron-Smith arrived at 7:35 PM

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Ed Walker 21206 Poplar Way, suggested to the Council that the Public Works office trailer could be sold at the Murphy’s auction.

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Gipson stated that he attended the Community Transit Capital Planning Meeting on June 27, 2006.

Councilmember Krienke stated that he attended the Planning Commission Meeting on June 21, 2006.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of June 20, 2006. Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember Kaemingk seconded to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of June 20, 2006. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of June 20, 2006. Councilmember Gipson moved and Councilmember Krienke seconded to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of June 20, 2006. Motion Carried.

 

Consent Agenda:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of July 13, 2006. Councilmember Kaemingk moved and Councilmember Corpron-Smith seconded to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of July 13, 2006. Motion carried with Councilmember Gipson abstaining due to his absence.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval to cancel Brier City Council Workshop Meeting on July 4, 2006 in observance of the holiday and approve the surplus of the old Public Works office trailer. Councilmember Kaemingk moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to cancel Brier City Council Workshop Meeting on July 4, 2006 in observance of the holiday and approve the surplus of the old Public Works office trailer. Motion carried.

 

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the approval of the overlay program and authorize $137,105 for Rinker Materials to begin the project. Councilmember Krienke moved and Councilmember Gipson seconded to approve the overlay program and authorize $137,105 for Rinker Materials to begin the project. Motion Carried.

 

There was Council discussion regarding roads, budget on overlays and water issues.

 

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Resolution No. 488 granting final plat approval and accepting the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law regarding MIR Enterprises L.L.C., Subdivision #98-04 Poplar Glen located at 215XX Poplar Way, Brier by Vladan Milosavljevic. Councilmember Gipson moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to approve Resolution No. 488 granting final plat approval and accepting the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law regarding MIR Enterprises L.L.C., Subdivision #98-04 Poplar Glen located at 215XX Poplar Way, Brier by Vladan Milosavljevic. Motion Carried.

 

Vladan Milosavljevic 8428 NE 203rd St Bothell, stated that he objects to the Resolution.

There was Council discussion about corrections on wording in the Resolution. 

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Mayor Colinas addressed the council about quarterlies and when the Councilmembers will receive them.

 

Councilmember Nick asked the Mayor about the City’s street sweeper.

 

Adjournment

Councilmember Gem moved and Councilmember Corpron-Smith seconded to adjourn. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 8:14 PM.
