Brier City Council Minutes
August 22, 2006
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Councilmembers Nick, Kaemingk,
Corpron-Smith and Gem. Councilmember Krienke arrived at 7:32 PM and
Councilmember Gipson arrived at 7:33 PM.
Absent: Councilmember Morgan.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
John Fisken 22424 Old Poplar Way, addressed the
Council about some property that is going to be developed, a house that has
garbage in the yard, SeaScare and the Pandemic virus.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Gipson stated that he attended the
Community Transit Finance Committee Administration meeting on August 17, 2006.
Councilmember Corpron-Smith stated that Mayor
Colinas and she met with the Fire District One representatives on August 22,
2006.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of
the Brier City Council Minutes of August 15, 2006. Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember
Gem seconded to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 15,
2006. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of
the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of August 15, 2006. Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember Gem
seconded to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of August
15, 2006. Motion Carried. Councilmember Nick and Councilmember Krienke
abstained due to their absence.
Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of
Resolution No. 491 declaring the sweeper and Ford F250 truck surplus. Councilmember Kaemingk moved and Councilmember Gipson
seconded to approve Resolution No. 491 declaring the sweeper and Ford
F250 truck surplus. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Mayor
Colinas opened for consideration approval of roadway striping. There was
council discussion. Councilmember Krienke moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to approve the request for roadway striping
for 2006 in the amount of $8,381.05. Motion carried.
Councilmember
Nick explained that Verizon is putting flags on people’s lawns to mark where
they can hook up to fiber optics.
Councilmember
Corpron-Smith stated that on August 16, 2006 Brier sponsored a skateboard
demonstration day.
There was council
discussion on skate parks, the Brier Newsletter and City Light Woods.
Adjournment
Councilmember
Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember
Kaemingk seconded to
adjourn. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 8:16 PM.
