Brier City Council Minutes

 

February 27, 2007

 

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the flag salute was given.

 

Roll Call:

Present:            Councilmembers, Nick, Kaemingk, Gipson, Corpron-Smith, and Gem. Councilmember Krienke arrived at 8:00 pm.

Absent:             Councilmember Morgan.

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Steve Vandivort 23155 23rd Ave W further discussed the December 2006 failure of Golden View sewer with Council.

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Kaemingk attended South Snohomish County Cities and Towns meeting Feb 22.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of February 20, 2007. Councilmember Nick moved and Councilmember Corpron-Smith seconded to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of February 20, 2007.  Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of February 20, 2007. Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember Gipson seconded to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of February 20, 2007. Motion Carried.

 

Unfinished Business:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration continuation of Subdivision application SUB05-001 by Lindsey E. McClenny; and approval of Resolution #487 granting Preliminary Plat for application SUB05-001 submitted by Lindsey E. McClenny. Director Jim Cutts gave a brief overview on the subdivision. There was Council discussion.  Councilmember Gipson moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to approve Resolution #487 granting Preliminary Plat for application SUB05-001 submitted by Lindsey E. McClenny.  There was Council discussion. Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember Kaemingk seconded to carry the motion to amend the motion by adding the wording as follows: “and will include open space dedication on lots 11, 12, and 13 and the trail on track 999” at the end of the sentence in item JJ of Resolution #487. Main motion carried.

 

 

 

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for discussion the Parks & Recreation Board’s conceptual report to the Council on Bobcat Park off leash area. Ken Overstreet Parks Board Chair stood up to address the Council in reference to the off leash area and to present a proposition to the Council. The Park Board would like to recommend an off leash area with a pilot program where problems would be presented to the Brier Dog Club and Parks Board. There was Council discussion. It was suggested that a later meeting would be scheduled to allow for more time and opportunity for input. A public meeting will be held on March 20th.

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Councilmember Kaemingk met with South Snohomish Cities and Towns in respect to LDMR. There is a dinner event at the Lynnwood Convention on April 22nd for City Council to meet with Snohomish County Council to discuss LDMR issues.

 

Adjournment

Councilmember Corpron-Smith moved and Councilmember Gem seconded to adjourn. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 9:11 PM.
