Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30 PM and dispensed with the formalities.

Roll Call:

Present:            Councilmembers, Nick, Kaemingk, Gipson, Corpron-Smith, and Morgan.

                        Councilmember Gem arrived at 7:32PM and Councilmember Krienke arrived at 7:34PM.

Executive Session

Mayor Colinas and the council adjourn to Executive Session at 7:32PM for approximately an hour and a half. Mayor Colinas came back out at 9:00PM and extended the Executive Session for an additional hour. Mayor Colinas came back out at 10:00PM and extended the Executive Session for an additional 45 minutes to 10:45PM. The Council returned from Executive Session at 10:43PM.

Councilmember Gipson moved and Councilmember Corpron-Smith seconded to approve Ordinance No. 344 Repealing Certain Ordinances and Sections of the Brier Municipal Code.  A roll call vote was taken, Gem-aye, Gipson-aye, Kaemingk-aye, Corpron-Smith-aye, Morgan-aye, Nick-aye, Krienke-aye. Motion Carried unanimously.

Councilmember Gem moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to approve the Mayor’s right to terminate any attorney services contract currently in effect for the City of Brier. A roll call vote was taken, Gem-aye, Gipson-aye, Kaemingk-aye, Corpron-Smith-aye, Morgan-nay, Nick-aye, Krienke-aye. Councilmember Morgan stated for the record that he voted against this because he believes that a long term employee deserves more respect than this and that the situation should be handled differently than how it is being handled right now. Motion Carried.

Adjournment

Councilmember Corpron Smith moved and Councilmember Nick seconded to adjourn to Workshop at 10:45  PM.
