BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
August 28, 2007
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at7:32:01 PM and dispensed with the flag salute.
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas, Councilmember Gipson,
Councilmember Kaemingk, Councilmember Krienke, Councilmember Nick and
Councilmember Gem. Councilmember Corpron-Smith arrived at 7:33 PM.
ABSENT: Councilmember Morgan.
STAFF: City Attorney Kaseguma, Director of Community
Development Cutts, City Clerk-Treasurer Swisher and Police Chief Lane.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
John Dunne 23106 35th Ave W, he has some
traffic concerns due to two accidents right in their front yard. He would like
to see some added police presence or some kind of traffic revision or maybe
additional lighting at that corner. Mayor Colinas offered that he and Chief
Lane will come out and look at the situation.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilman Krienke attended the Planning Commission
last Wednesday where they discussed buildable lands. The Commission will be coming to the Council with a report.
Councilman Gipson attended the CT Executive
Committee meeting today.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of August 21, 2007. Councilmember Gipson moved, seconded by Councilmember
Gem, to approve the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of August 21, 2007 with the corrections to the
attendance. Motion Carried. Councilman Nick abstained.
Consent
Agenda:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Consent Agenda
which includes Brier City Council Minutes of August 14, 2007. Councilmember
Gem moved, seconded by Councilmember
Nick, to approve the Consent
Agenda which includes Brier City Council Minutes of August 14, 2007. Motion
Carried. Councilman Gipson abstained.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval to authorize Mayor’s
signature on the agreement with ICOMPASS for meeting management solutions. Councilmember
Kaemingk moved, seconded by Councilmember
Gem, to authorize Mayor’s
signature on the agreement with ICOMPASS for meeting management solutions.
Motion Carried.
Public
Hearings
Mayor Colinas opened for Public Hearing at 7:58:18 PM on proposed Ordinance #346 regarding
connection of habitable dwelling to the City sewer system, and amending
sections 13.08.030 and 13.080.080. Councilmember Gipson moved,
seconded by Councilmember Corpron-Smith,
to close the Public Hearing at 7:59:02 PM on proposed Ordinance #346 regarding the
connection of habitable dwelling to the City sewer system, and amending
sections 13.08.030 and 13.080.080.
Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration to adopt Resolution #496
declaring certain property as surplus and authorizing the disposition thereof.
There was Council discussion. Councilmember Kaemingk moved,
seconded by Councilmember Corpron-Smith,
to adopt Resolution #496 declaring
certain property as surplus and authorizing the disposition thereof. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration to adopt Ordinance #346 regarding
connection of habitable dwellings to the City sewer system, and amending
sections 13.08.030 and 13.080.080. Councilmember Corpron-Smith
moved, seconded by Councilmember Gem, to
adopt Ordinance #346 regarding connection of habitable dwellings to the City
sewer system, and amending sections 13.08.030 and 13.080.080. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Councilman Gipson commented on an article about
Milo and his homes here in Brier that he is building.
Councilwoman Corpron-Smith asked about the pond.
Mayor Colinas is talking to the contractor directly to get this handled.

Councilmember Kaemingk moved, seconded by Councilmember Gem, to adjourn. Mayor Colinas
declared the meeting adjourned at 8:10:02 PM .
