Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:31 PM  and the flag salute was given.

ABSENT:                  Councilmember Corpron-Smith, Gem and Gipson.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Hannah Baisch 3000 227^th St. SW, Brier. Sarah Barisic 2405 226^th St. SW, Brier. Emily Hutchins 2211 Clumbia Ave, Everett. Sarah Smith 2218 214^th Pl. SW, Brier. Sara Allchedary 4525 164^th St. SW, Lynnwood. They came to discuss the condition of the Brier Park bathrooms. They would like to help clean up the bathrooms and make monthly check-ups. Mayor Colinas welcomed their help to volunteer and would like to meet with them to set up a plan.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Steele had a news article that Jacqueline Cako a 16 year old Brier resident won the USTA Clay Court National doubles championship and is the top seed in open women’s singles this week at the Pacific Northwest Championships.

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the July 9^th joint Planning commission meeting with the Parks Board. He also attended the July 16^th regular Planning commission meeting. He will be attending the upcoming South Snohomish Cities meeting this Thursday.

Mayor Colinas informed the Council that our local MTYAA pony league won the local championship and will be going to Walnut Creek, California next week. He suggested to the Parks Board to use the team as the Grand Marshall for the SeaScare parade.

Consent Agenda:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Consent Agenda which includes approval of Professional Services Agreement with Hammond, Collier, Wade and Livingstone for the Brier Skate Park, to confirm the Appointment of Shelly Magnuson and Stephan Scott to the Planning Commission, to confirm the Re-appointment of Marc Olson to the Planning Commission, and approval of time change for the meeting of August 5, 2009 to 8:00pm due to National Night Out. Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Mayor Colinas handed out a letter from Mayor Haakenson of Edmonds regarding the commercialization of Paine Field airport. The surrounding cities are asking for our support to join the fight against the commercialization of the airport.
