Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:57 PM  and the flag salute was given.

ABSENT:                  Councilmember Kaemingk.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Gem attended the July 31^st police meeting. Councilmember Gipson attended the August 7th CT Board of Directors meeting. Councilmember Corpron-Smith wanted to remind everyone that is willing to be a judge for the evening needs to be at SeaScare by 6:15 PM. Councilmember Nick on August 11^th reviewed the claim warrants. Jim Cutts discussed the comprehensive plan amendments going to Planning Commission on Aug 20^th and he expects the Sunbrook Plat will be coming to you in October.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 5, 2008. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 5, 2008. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED.  Motion Carried. 7:39:41 PM

Hearings:

Jim Cutts made opening comments regarding application #BR08-057 for a home occupation license. Mayor Colinas opened the Public Hearing at 7:42:35 PM on Business License #BR08-057 for RG Medical Review Service by Rosalina Guaren located at 21203 39^th Pl W, Brier. Councilmember Gipson made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 7:43:30 PM . Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried. Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve Business License # BR08-057 for RG Medical Review Service by Rosalina Guaren located at 21203 39^th Pl W, Brier with the stipulation that a Washington State Business License be provided prior to issuing the City license. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried. 7:45:17 PM

Jim Cutts made opening comments regarding application #BR08-045 for a home occupation. Anthony Anissipour addressed the Council regarding his license and the necessary actions that he is taking to get the construction work permitted properly with the City.

Mayor Colinas opened the Public Hearing at 7:51:57 PM  on Business License #BR08-045 for AAA Solid Concrete Construction, Inc. by Anthony Anissipour located at 2937 216^th St SW, Brier. Councilmember Gipson made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 7:52:57 PM . Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve Business License # BR08-045 for AAA Solid Concrete Construction, Inc. by Anthony Anissipour located at 2937 216^th St SW, Brier with the condition that the application will become an administrative review and will not be issued until successful completion of the building permit issue. Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Councilmember Corpron-Smith offered to work on getting the street tree program the Council had discussed at a prior meeting into our tree ordinance.

Auditing of Accounts

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the July 2008 Payroll Warrants. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the July 2008 Payroll Warrants No. 14917 through No. 14973 in the amount of $118,676.52. Councilmember Steele SECONDED.  Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the July 2008 Claim Warrants.  Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the July 2008 Claim Warrants No. 19853 through No. 19918 and 14974, in the amount of $433,225.31 with Warrant No. 18963 & 19869 being voided. Councilmember Gem SECONDED. There was Council discussion 8:05:43 PM. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the July 2008 Checks. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the July 2008 Checks No. 9617 through No. 9626 in the amount of $10,495.40. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED.  Motion Carried.
