BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
August 26, 2008
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:31:06 PM and
dispensed with the flag.
Roll Call: 7:31:32 PM
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas; Councilmember
Corpron-Smith, Gem, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick and Steele. Councilmember Gipson
arrived at 7:34 PM.
STAFF: Dir. Comm. Dev. & Planning Cutts;
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher; Associate Planner Gaudette.

Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Kaemingk attended the August 20th
Planning Commission meeting, the two new members of the commission were
present. He will be attending the South Snohomish Cities meeting on Thursday
the 28th.
Councilmember Gipson attended a CT meeting on
August 21st, and an CT executive committee meeting on the 25th.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of August 12, 2008. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of
August 12, 2008. Councilmember
Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried. Councilmember Kaemingk abstained.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of August 19, 2008. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council
Workshop Minutes of August 19, 2008. Councilmember Corpron-Smith
SECONDED. Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the review
and approval of the following Comprehensive Plan amendments to be sent to the
State of Washington for comment; Land Use Element, Housing Element, Parks &
Recreation Element, Transportation Element, Comprehensive Plan Implementation,
and Capital Facilities Plan.
Director Cutts gave an
overview of the amendments and recommendations by the Planning Commission to
forward to CTED for review. There was Council discussion and some clerical
errors were noted to be changed before forwarding to CTED.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the review and approval of up to
$3,800+ WSST for repair /clutch replacement of City’s Boom Mower by Brim
Tractor. Councilmember
Nick made a MOTION to approve up
to $3,800+ WSST for repair /clutch replacement of City’s Boom Mower by Brim
Tractor. Councilmember
Gem SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Mayor Colinas informed the Council
that he will bring the Council a draft investment policy for their
consideration at next week’s workshop.

Councilmember Gipson made a MOTION
to adjourn. Councilmember
Steele SECONDED. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at8:53:32 PM.
