Workshop Minutes
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:30:24 PM and
he dispensed with the formalities.
Roll Call:
7:30:50 PM
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas; Councilmember
Corpron-Smith, Gem, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick and Steele.
ABSENT: Councilmember Gipson.
STAFF: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Mark Schnell 22211 Brier Rd, he is representing the
Brier-Terrace Soccer Club. The field has been in really good condition this
year. He is requesting to have a cyclone fence put up between the park and 228th
in cooperation with the Soccer Club. He will be addressing the Parks
Board about this issue. It would be approximately 340 feet of fence.

Councilmember Nick reviewed the claim warrants on
September 8, 2008.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 26,
2008. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve
the Brier City Council Minutes of August 26, 2008.
Councilmember Gem SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of
September 2, 2008. Councilmember Gem made a MOTION to
approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of September 2, 2008. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember Steele has a Library Board meeting
tomorrow night. Councilmember Corpron-Smith has a Park Board meeting tomorrow
night.
Mayor Colinas received a letter from Red Cross
acknowledging the City’s donation of the Ambulance.
Councilmember Krienke suggested that we ask to have
it dedicated to the memory of John Fisken since he was an active Red Cross
volunteer.
Auditing
of Accounts
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the August 2008 Payroll Warrants. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the
August 2008 Payroll Warrants No. 14975 through No. 15031 in the amount of
$115,942.47. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the August 2008 Claim Warrants. Councilmember Nick
made a MOTION to approve the August 2008 Claim Warrants No. 19919
through No. 19976 in the amount of $92,334.94. Councilmember
Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the August 2008 Checks. Councilmember Nick
made a MOTION to approve the August 2008 Checks No. 9627 through No.
9635 in the amount of $12,520.81. Councilmember
Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Adjournment
Councilmember
Kaemingk made a MOTION to adjourn to Workshop. Councilmember Gem
SECONDED. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 7:44 PM.
