Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:29 PM  and the flag salute was given.

Public Requests & Oral Communications

Peggy Dare 22320 Hickory Way spoke regarding the way we process short plats. She has a budget request for parks and public works for a trail project along 228^th.

Reports Of Committees & City Officials

Councilmember Gipson attended on November 6^th a CT board meeting.

Councilmember Corpron-Smith has been working on baseball field fees.

Councilmember Steele will attend the library board meeting tomorrow evening November 12.

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the South Snohomish County Cities meeting and their main issues that they will be discussing are the REET funds, the Regional Fire Authority and a regional jail system.

Councilmember Nick reviewed the claim warrants on November 9^th.

Approval Of Minutes

Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve Brier City Council minutes of October 28, 2008. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. 7:45:10 PM Motion Carried.

Consent Agenda

Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to confirm re-appointment of Dee Williamson to the library board position #1 to expire December 31, 2012, confirm re-appointment of Karla Wood to the park board position #3 to expire September 15, 2012, and confirm re-appointment of Ken Overstreet to the park board position #4 to expire September 15, 2012. Hearings

Mayor Colinas gave a brief overview of the application. Vijayaluxmi Niles has run a daycare since 1999, she wants to be a good citizen and she really likes working with kids.

Mayor Colinas opened the public hearing at 7:54:06 PM. Eugene Adams 4525 240^th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace, he lived across the street from the Niles residence. He is in favor of this business and feels the traffic is minimal. Sue Walgren 23321 35^th Ave. W., wanted to know when it would open and how many children. Veejay responded she is licensed for 12 children and will open once the construction is finished and approved by the licensing agent. Peggy Dare 22320 Hickory Way, she is glad that home occupation is not being done administratively. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to close the hearing at 7:58:30 PM. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve business license BR08-080 submitted by Vijayaluxmi Niles for Veejay’s Little Stars daycare located at 23302 35th Ave. W, brier. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Auditing Of Accounts

Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve October 2008 Payroll Warrants No. 15103 through no. 15160 in the amount of $120,894.88. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. 8:03:27 PM Motion Carried.
