April 7, 2009
Workshop Minutes - that followed the regular meeting
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:31:14 PM and
the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas; Councilmembers Gem, Krienke, Corpron-Smith, Steele, and Nick.
Councilmember Gipson arrived at 7:33 PM.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Kirby Johnson 22016 Vine Road submitted a letter
regarding the Murphy detention pond failure that occurred last week.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember
Gipson attended the April 2nd CT Board meeting.
Councilmember
Krienke attended the March 25th Police Department meeting.
Councilmember Steele attended the March 26th
ESCA Board meeting; attended the joint meeting with the Friends of the Library
and Library Board earlier this evening.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of, March 24, 2009. Councilmember Kaemingk MOVED to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of March
24, 2009. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
A.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration granting semi-final
approval of the work performed by Wyser Construction for the new Brier Skate
Park. Approval is subject to requirements of appropriate federal and state
agencies, if any, and ultimately the release of retainage to the contractor. Councilmember
Gipson MOVED to grant semi-final approval of the work performed by Wyser
Construction for the new Brier Skate Park in the amount $177,013.39. Councilmember
Krienke SECONDED. There was Council discussion. Motion Carried.
B.
Mayor Colinas opened for discussion the release of assignment
of funds for Jim & Debra Gamm in the amount of $3,000.00. Councilmember
Corpron-Smith MOVED to approve the release of assignment of funds for Jim Gamm
in the amount of $3,000. Councilmember Gem SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Councilmember Corpron-Smith reminded everyone that the
annual egg hunt in this Saturday April 11th at 10:00 AM.
Councilmember Gipson will not be in attendance at the April
14th meeting.
