BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

February 9, 2010

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:39 PM  and the Mayor dispensed with the flag salute.

 

Roll Call                  

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Corpron-Smith, Gem, Kaemingk, Steele, Gallagher and Olson.

                                                  Councilmember Krienke arrived at 7:39:46 PM.

STAFF:                                       Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials

Councilmember Steele on January 28th attended the ESCA board meeting; she met with the Mayor, staff and the district director for Jay Inslee’s office today and reviewed the claims on February 8th.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes & Workshop Minutes of January 26, 2010. Councilmember Gem made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes and Workshop Minutes of January 26, 2010. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Olson abstaining.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of February 2, 2010. Councilmember Gem made a MOTION to approve Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of February 2, 2010. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED.  Motion Carried with Councilmember Olson abstaining.

 

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration adoption of Resolution No. 522 supporting house bill 2351, also known as the “911-bill.” Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve adoption of Resolution No. 522 supporting house bill 2351, also known as the “911-bill”. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Councilmember Gallagher will be absent on March 2nd for a family vacation.

 

Mayor Colinas has decided that the City will supply the rest of the materials needed for the Bobcat Park project that Eagle Scout Cameron Forbus is working on. Cameron has done a good job garnering support from area businesses to get donations.

 

Auditing of Accounts

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the January 2010 Payroll Warrants. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the January 2010 Payroll Warrants No. 16882 through No. 16937 in the amount of $122,648.67. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the January 2010 Claim Warrants.  Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the January 2010 Claim Warrants No. 21245 through No. 21319 in the amount of $470,725.14. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration to approve January 2010 checks No. 9784 through No. 9792 in the amount of $4,808.34. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve January 2010 checks No. 9784 through No. 9792 in the amount of $4,808.34. Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Executive Session Pursuant To RCW 42.30.110(1)(I) To Discuss Litigation.

Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to adjourn to Executive Session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) to discuss litigation. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried. As there was no action to be taken the public portion of the meeting concluded and the Council adjourned after the executive session.

Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 7:44:19 PM.
