BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
September 7, 2010
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:32:12 PM and
the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Gem, Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher and Olson.
ABSENT: Councilmember
Corpron-Smith.
STAFF: City
Attorney Kaseguma.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Steele will be attending the Library
Board meeting on September 8th, and will also be attending a 2 day
retreat for RSMA at the end of month.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of August 24, 2010. Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of
August 24, 2010. Councilmember
Gem SECONDED. Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the amendment to the
Defense Attorney contract with Gregg Schrag. Councilmember Kaemingk made a MOTION
to approve the amendment to the Defense Attorney contract with Gregg Schrag.
Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the amendment to
SNOCOM Interlocal Agreement to return Snohomish County Fire District #1 as a
voting member. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the amendment
to SNOCOM Interlocal Agreement to return Snohomish County Fire District #1 as a
voting member. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried. 7:45:09 PM
Consideration
of BIDS, L.I.D.S & Related Matters:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Bid for Lomi
Construction to repair the Alaska
Road roadway failure project #2010-02 in the
amount of $50,000. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION
to approve the Bid for Lomi Construction to repair Alaska Road roadway failure project
#2010-02 in the amount of $50,000. Councilmember
Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Executive
Session Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) to Discuss Litigation:
Mayor Colinas excused Council to Executive Session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)
to Discuss Litigation and Potential Litigation at 7:54:24 PM for approximately 60 minutes. Council
reconvened from Executive Session at 8:49:27 PM.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to authorize the
Mayor’s signature for legal services as of today, September 7, 2010 between the
City of Brier
and the Law Office of Daniel P. Mallove, PLLC until December 6, 2011.
Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas and Councilmember
Krienke will be attending the Park Board meeting due to the Boards
interest in an off leash dog park.
Councilmember Gallagher will not
be at the September 21st meeting.
