Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:16 PM and the flag salute was given.

ABSENT:                                    Mayor Colinas.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Peggy Dare 22320 Hickory Way stated that some complaints have been directed to her regarding the tree removal, clearing and grading of the Sunbrook Plat.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke attended the Parks Board meeting on September 8, 2010.

Councilmember Steele reviewed the claims on September 11th, next week she will be at the AWC-RMSA board meeting.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of September 7, 2010. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of September 7, 2010. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Corpron-Smith abstaining.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of September 7, 2010. Councilmember Gem made a MOTION to approve Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of September 7, 2010. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Corpron-Smith abstaining.

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Dennis Nick to the Planning Commission Position No. 6 with the term expiring July 31, 2012. Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve the confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Dennis Nick to the Planning Commission Position No. 6 with the term expiring July 31, 2012. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Hearings:

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened discussion on the Home Occupation License #BR10-060 for Performance Clean, submitted by Jose Garcia located at 22818 34^th Ave W. City Planner Gaudette discussed the application and recommended approval. Owner Jose Garcia commented that the home would only be used as an office and his personal work vehicle would be the only vehicle parked at the residence.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened the Public Hearing at 7:47:02 PM. Sonja Joudi 3415 230^th St SW, she is concerned about what chemical and vehicles would be stored on site. Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke closed the Public Hearing at 7:49:11 PM. Councilmember Olson made a MOTION to approve Home Occupation License #BR10-060 for Performance Clean, submitted by Jose Garcia located at 22818 34^th Ave W. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. 7:50:30 PM. Motion Carried.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened discussion on the Home Occupation License #BR10-061 for 456 Racing, submitted by Terry Portch located at 23736 29^th Ave W. City Planner Gaudette discussed the application and recommended approval. Terry Portch commented that they only sell the products March thru September.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened the Public Hearing at 7:53:36 PM. There were no public comments. Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke closed the Public Hearing at 7:54:38 PM

Councilmember Corpron-Smith made a MOTION to approve Home Occupation License #BR10-061 for 456 Racing, submitted by Terry Portch located at 223736 29^th Ave W. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Councilmember Gallagher will be absent next week.

Councilmember Krienke asked about the hanging of the Park Master Plan maps.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the approval of the August 2010 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the August 2010 Payroll Checks No. 17259 through No. 17310 in the amount of $120,253.51. Councilmember Gem SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the approval of the August 2010 Claim Checks.  Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the August 2010 Claim Checks No. 21668 through No. 21723 in the amount of $352,370.40. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke opened for consideration the approval of the August 2010 Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve August 2010 Checks No. 9870 through No. 9878 in the amount of $11,711.47. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.
