BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 22, 2011
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:30:27 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Kaemingk, Corpron-Smith, Steele, Krienke, Gallagher, Olson and Nick.

Requests & Oral Communications:
Al Ross- 3309
214TH St SW- Evergreen Tree Service
came to his door without a peddlers’ license. Mr. Ross was told by the City
that business that go door to door are required to obtain a license, but
non-profit organizations, such as churches, do not need peddlers’ license. Mr.
Ross feels non-profit organizations should also be required to obtain a
peddlers license.
Kirby Johnson- 22016 Vine Road- has a small pond on
his property that’s downstream from Murphy detention pond. Mr. Johnson is
concerned that the Murphy detention pond is not operating at full capacity.

Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of February 8, 2011. Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of
February 8, 2011. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of February 15, 2011. Councilmember
Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Workshop
Minutes of February 15, 2011. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Hearings:
Mayor Colinas opened the initial discussion for Business
License BR11-003 for Raymond Construction Services located at 21227 Poplar Way,
by C. Dean Raymond. Mr. Raymond gave a brief overview of his business. The Mayor spoke on
the behalf of the City Planner, Nicole Gaudette and
gave a brief overview of the application and recommended approval. Mayor
Colinas opened the Public Hearing at 7:59:22 PM. Cameron Wallace, 23746 27th Pl W – asked if
construction equipment will be located on the site. Mayor Colinas
closed the Public Hearing at 8:01:08 PM. Councilmember
Kaemingk made a MOTION to approve Business License BR11-003 for Raymond
Construction Services located at 21227
Poplar Way, by C. Dean Raymond. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened the initial discussion for Business
License BR11-015 for BMI Contracting located at 23930 27th Pl W by Josu Ayuso. Mr. Ayuso-23930 27th
Pl W gave a brief overview of his business. The Mayor spoke on the behalf of
the City Planner, Nicole Gaudette and gave a brief overview
of the application and recommended approval. Mayor Colinas opened the Public
Hearing at 8:09:53 PM. Cameron Wallace, 23746 27th Pl W-wants to make
sure no extra vehicles will be permitted on the property and sidewalks are not
blocked. Mayor Colinas closed the Public Hearing at 8:12:29 PM . Councilmember Steele made a MOTION
to approve Business License BR11-015 for BMI Contracting located at 23930 27th Pl W
by Josu Ayuso.
Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
Mayor called
for 5 minute recess at 8:19:04 PM. Council reconvened at 8:23:40 PM.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City
Officials:
Mayor Colinas spoke with MTYAA and they would like to
install 16 foot wing fences along the west baseball field.
Councilmember Steele-spoke with a resident who appreciated
the new improvements at Bobcat
Park and feels sidewalk
improvements along Poplar Way
would benefit the city. Councilmember Steele would like to see the traffic
counter on Vine Road
to see if traffic has increased.

Councilmember Olson made a MOTION to adjourn.

Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at. 8:34:22 PM.
