BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
April 26, 2011
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:31:03 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Corpron-Smith, Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Olson and Nick.
ABSENT: Councilmember
Gallagher.
STAFF: Clerk-Treasurer
Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Dawn Hesler 22919 25th Ave W
has lived in Brier for 19 years. She had an issue with her sewer bill feeling
that she had not been credited for a full payment. Her payment was applied
against her overdue balance and the lien fees. She would like to see the
Council institute a program to subsidize people in need.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Olsen attended police negotiations on
April 21st as well as the meeting with Barbara Podeszwick
to discuss the animal ordinance.
Councilmember Krienke attended the parks board
meeting on April 13th. The
Parks Board would like the Council to consider purchasing new sign boards. He
will attend a RFA subcommittee meeting on April 28th.
Mayor Colinas attended a RFA subcommittee meeting
April 26, 2011.
Councilmember Steele reviewed the warrants on April
9th.
Councilmember Kaemingk attended a RFA subcommittee
meeting on April 20, 2011.
In addition he attended the Planning Commission
meeting on the 20th. On April 21st he attended the police
negotiations.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of April 12, 2011. Councilmember Nick
made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of April
12, 2011. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion
Carried with Councilmember Steele abstaining.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for discussion the Interlocal
Cooperation Agreement with Snohomish
County for the Locust
Creek Park Development. There was Council discussion. Councilmember Krienke
made a MOTION to authorize the Mayor’s signature on the Interlocal
Cooperation Agreement with Snohomish
County for the Locust
Creek Park Development. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember Nick wanted to acknowledge the work
that he saw our Public Works crew doing today on the railing by the fire
station.
Adjournment:
Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to adjourn to
workshop. Councilmember Corpron-Smith SECONDED. Motion Carried. Mayor Colinas adjourn the meeting at 8:02:23 PM.
