Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:30:27 PM  and dispensed with the flag salute.

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson and Nick. Councilmember Corpron-Smith arrived at 7:32 PM.

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the RFA meeting on August 3^rd; police negotiations meeting on August 4^th; RFA Finance committee meeting on August 17^th.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 9, 2011. Councilmember Steele MOVED to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 9, 2011. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of August 16, 2011. Councilmember Corpron-Smith MOVED to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of August 16, 2011. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Consent Agenda:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the authorization of the Mayor’s signature on the Worker’s Compensation retro program agreement with AWC. Councilmember Olson MOVED to approve the authorization of the Mayor’s signature on the Worker’s Compensation retro program agreement with AWC. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Eric Lynch to Park Board, Position #1 with a term to expire on September 15, 2013. Councilmember Nick MOVED to approve the confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Eric Lynch to Park Board, Position #1 with a term to expire on September 15, 2013. Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas discussed an additional Parks Board appointment that he has been considering. In addition he asked for input to give to the Library Board about what their purpose is and what the Council is expecting them to do. There was Council discussion.
