BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

November 27, 2012

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:30 PM and dispensed with the flag salute.

Roll Call: PRESENT: Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.

ABSENT: Councilmember Kaemingk.

STAFF: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None.

Reports of Committees & City Officials: Councilmember Gallagher attended the Library Board meeting on November 14th. Councilmember Nick attended the Parks Board meeting on November 14th.

Approval of Minutes: Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of November 14, 2012. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of November 14, 2012. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Joplin abstaining.

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals: Mayor Colinas opened for consideration authorization of the Mayor's signature on the contract for Prosecutor Services with Darrel Johnson for 2013. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Mayor's signature on the contract for Prosecutor Services with Darrel Johnson for 2013. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration authorization of the Mayor's signature on the contract for Public Defender Services with Greg Schrag for January-June 2013. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the Mayor's signature on the contract for Public Defender Services with Greg Schrag for January-June 2013. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials: Councilmember Nick received phone calls from the resident adjacent to the detention pond asking about the status of it. Councilmember Steele has been seeing articles about injuries related to bouncy houses and asked about our liability for National Night Out. Councilmember Gallagher asked if we had any measurements on the pond recently and if the annexation has taken effect. Clerk-Treasurer Swisher reported that the State Auditor called last week to inform her that they would like to extend the accountability audits out to every 3 years and they may look at our financials as well due to our good track record. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to cancel the Brier City Council meeting of December 25, 2012. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Adjournment: Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 7:26:32 PM.
