BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 26, 2013
Mayor Pro-Tem Krienke called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order at 7:01:35 PM and dispensed with the flag salute.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Councilmember
Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.
ABSENT: Mayor Colinas.
STAFF: Clerk-Treasurer
Swisher.

Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Nick attended the February 13th
Parks Board meeting.
Councilmember Krienke attended the February 20th
RFA meeting.
Councilmember Steele attended the February 25th
meeting with the ESCA director.
Councilmember Kaemingk attended the February 20th
Planning Commission meeting that was postponed due to lack of a quorum and
continued to Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor ProTem Krienke opened for consideration
approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of February 12, 2013. Councilmember Kaemingk made a MOTION to approve
the Brier City Council Minutes of February 12, 2013.
Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion
Carried with Councilmember Joplin abstaining.
Unfinished
Business:
Mayor ProTem Krienke opened for consideration
the approval of the purchase of a new replacement Police vehicle. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the
purchase of a new replacement Police vehicle in an amount not to exceed $33,000
from American Fleet Maintenance. Councilmember Olson SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:
Mayor ProTem Krienke opened for consideration
the confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Fran Bowles to the Planning
Commission, Position No. 1, with a term set to expire January 31, 2015. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the
confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Fran Bowles to the Planning
Commission, Position No. 1, with a term set to expire January 31, 2015.
Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor ProTem Krienke opened for consideration
the approval of the expenditure authorization of $2,794.80 to purchase three
new computer towers from Dell. Councilmember Steele
made a MOTION to approve the expenditure authorization of up to $3,500
to purchase three new computer towers from Dell. There
was Council discussion. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to cancel the March 5th Brier City
Council Workshop meeting. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Councilmember
Kaemingk made a MOTION to increase the authorization for a fuel purchase
from $40,000 to $45,000. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED. Motion Carried.
