Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:10 PM  and the flag salute was given.

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.

STAFF:                                       Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Gail DeBernardo 22603 23^rd Pl. W. spoke regarding the Brier Wildlife Habitat project and handed out flyers advertising coming presentations regarding yard care and wildlife habit to be held at the Brier Library. She asked the Council if they would all consider certifying their yards.

Peggy Dare 22320 Hickory Way, stated she has been actively outspoken about Old Poplar Way, she handed in a packet regarding the “rise and fall of Old Poplar Way”. She discussed her proposal from a few years ago regarding the changes she would like to see done to the driveway areas coming into Brier Park and the employee parking area of city hall and her desire to have a rain garden in the area in front of the horse arena. She handed out her design concepts.

Mayor Colinas gave Julie O’Donnell 3404 Russet Road, the floor to report about the Brier Wildlife Habitat project. They had their native plant sale last year and felt it was very successful for their first attempt they sold $1,225.00 which earned them $264.00. Last summer she visited a lot of our native growth areas and made a list of our native plants which she handed out.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Nick attended the Parks Board meeting on March 13^th.

Councilmember Steele will attend an ESCA meeting this Thursday March 28^th.

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the March 13^th RFA meeting to discuss the future for the RFA since only Mountlake Terrace, Brier and Fire District #1 are the only remaining members.

Councilmember Gallagher attended the March 13^th Library Board meeting.

Councilmember Joplin will attend a Health Board meeting this Thursday March 28^th.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of March 12, 2013. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of March 12, 2013. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Joplin abstaining.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas asked if the Council would entertain a motion to cancel the April 2^nd workshop meeting. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to cancel the April 2^nd City Council Workshop meeting. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Councilmember Nick brought a new option proposed by the Parks Board for the reconstruction of the Brier Park play equipment.
