Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:31 PM and dispensed with the flag salute.

Roll Call:       

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.

STAFF:                                       Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Mayor Colinas announced that Edmonds School District Superintendent Nick Brossoit was in attendance to give a report.  Superintendent Brossoit gave an overview of the successes of the school district over the past year and how they are handling the budget challenges they have been facing over the past several years.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Joplin attended a Snohomish County Health District meeting today.

Councilmember Steele reviewed the claims on April 7^th and attended the ESCA meeting on March 28^th.

Councilmember Nick will attend the Parks Board meeting tomorrow evening.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of March 26, 2013. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of March 26, 2013. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas reported that we have received both of our HPA permits for Locust Creek Park and the Scriber Creek Bridge project.

Mayor Colinas reported that there will be money available in the near future from Snohomish County for park acquisitions. He would like to see us apply for some of these funds when they become available.

Councilmember Nick reported that the Egg Hunt was probably the biggest we have ever had and he thanked Councilmembers Krienke and Gallagher for their help with the event.

Mayor Colinas gave a report on the discussions that he has had with Ryan Adkins about the 5k run he would like to have here in Brier.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2013 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve Checks No. 25422 through No. 25479 and Checks No. 25479 through No. 25512 for payment of March 2013 Payroll in the amount of $123,784.71. Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2013 Claim Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve Check No. 25478, 25513 through No.25520 and Checks No. 25542 through No. 25596 for payment of March 2013 Claim Checks in the amount of $387,682.45. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.
