BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
May 7, 2013
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:00:18 PM and the flag salute was dispensed.
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Kaemingk, Steele, Gallagher, Nick and Joplin. Councilmember
Krienke arrived at 7:02 PM.
ABSENT: Councilmember Olson

Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas
opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of April
23, 2013. Councilmember Gallagher MOVED to approve
the Brier City Council Minutes of April 23, 2013.
Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Consideration
of BIDS, L.I.D.S & Related Matters:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the
authorization and approval of the purchase of the Scriber Creek
Bridge from Big R Bridge,
in the amount of $47,641.26. Councilmember Kaemingk MOVED to approve the
authorization and approval of the purchase of the Scriber Creek Bridge from Big
R Bridge, in the amount of $47,641.26. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. There was
council discussion. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Colinas reported to the Council that the City
received an annexation petition for the area south of the Allview annexation,
and the permitting process for Locust Creek Park has the Army Corp of Engineers
requesting that the City process a Cultural Arts Assessment. The Mayor also
reported an update on the Police contract and that he authorized the City’s
attorney to meet with the Police negotiations attorney to discuss the contract on
May 14th. The Mayor went out on Sunday to observe the Walk for Clean
Water in Haiti, put on by a local church. There were about 50 walkers using the
sidewalks.
