Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:02:28 PM  and the flag salute was given.

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Joplin and Nick.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Harold Wirch, Brier – he came to see how the city runs and offered his volunteer services for the City, he was previously a traffic engineer for the county.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Nick attended the Parks Board meeting May 8^th.

Councilmember Kaemingk will attend the Planning Commission meeting on May 15^th.

Councilmember Steele reviewed the claims on May 11^th.

Councilmember Joplin attended the Health Board meeting May 14^th.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of May 7, 2013. Councilmember Gallagher MOVED to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of May 7, 2013. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED. Motion Carried with Councilmember Olson abstaining.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas asked the Council how they feel about getting cameras in the police cars again since the last system went out of business several years ago.

Councilmember Gallagher stated that he would not be at next week’s meeting.

Councilmember Steele asked about a home being demolished on Vine Road and was curious about what was going on there.

Mayor Colinas reported that today our attorney who is helping to resolve the police contract has been meeting with the attorney for the union.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the April 2013 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele MOVED to approve the April 2013 Payroll Checks No 25521-25539, 25597-25615 and 25621-25654 in the amount of $169,219.72. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the April 2013 Claim Checks. Councilmember Steele MOVED to approve the April 2013 Claim Checks No. 25616 - 25620 and No. 25655 - 25720 in the amount of $176,855.98. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. There was Council discussion. Motion Carried.
