BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

August 20, 2013

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:12 PM and the flag salute was given.

 

 

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin. Councilmember Kaemingk arrived at 7:02:32 PM.

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Steele will be attending an ESCA meeting August 22nd.

Mayor Colinas attended the Conservation Futures Presentation meeting today with City Planner, Nicole Gaudette.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 13, 2013. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 13, 2013. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Consideration of BIDS, L.I.D.S & Related Matters:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the Bids on the Scriber Creek Bridge Replacement. Robin Nelson from Pace Engineers gave his recommendations. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to award the bid and authorize the Mayor’s signature on a contract with Interwest Construction, Inc. in the amount of $258,102.45 which includes sales tax and not to exceed $275,000.00. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the Bids on the Scriber Creek Bank Stabilization. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to award the bid and authorize the Mayor’s signature on a contract with Adopt a Stream Foundation in the amount of $74,698.71 which includes sales tax and not to exceed $80,000.00. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

The Council shared that SeaScare was another successful event this year and the Park Board did a great job putting it together.

 

Councilmember Steele asked if there is any additional information about the woman who complained about rats around her home coming from her neighbor’s yard either with chickens or over growth.

 

Adjournment:

Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned to Workshop at 7:21:06 PM.
