Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:28 PM  and the flag salute was dispensed with.

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.

STAFF:                                       Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Joplin attended the Snohomish Health Board meeting on April 8, 2014.

Councilmember Steele reported she reviewed the claims on April 5^th.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of March 25, 2014. Councilmember Joplin made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of March 25, 2014. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the Mayor’s appointment of Shelly Magnuson to the Park Board Position No. 1 with a term set to expire September 15, 2017. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the Mayor’s appointment of Shelly Magnuson to the Park Board Position No. 1 with a term set to expire September 15, 2017. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas and Clerk-Treasurer Swisher gave a report on the efforts to collect past due sewer billing accounts.

Councilmember Steele asked about the progress of the walking trail that will be constructed around Brier Park. Mayor Colinas reported that we had some elevation calculations done by our City Engineer and we will now be able to put together a bid package and send it out shortly.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2014 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the March 2014 Payroll Checks No. 26906 through No. 26925 and No. 26984 through No. 27018 in the amount of $128,706.01. Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2014 Claim Checks.  Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the March 2014 Claim Checks No. 27019 through No. 27024 and Checks No. 27045 through No. 27098 in the amount of $472,447.78. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. There was Council discussion. Motion Carried.

Adjournment:

Mayor Colinas called for an Executive Session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(b) to discuss the acquisition of property at 7:33:54 PM for 15 minutes and adjourning the meeting directly after as there is no business to be conducted. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned to Executive Session at 7:34:18 PM.
