BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

May 27, 2014

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:01:15 PM and the flag salute was given.

 

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson, Nick and Joplin.

ABSENT:                                    None.

STAFF:                                       Clerk-Treasurer Swisher; City Planner Gaudette.

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None.

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Gallagher attended the Library Board meeting on May 14th.

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the Planning Commission meeting on May 21st.

Councilmember Steele attended the ESCA Board meeting on May 23rd.

Councilmember Nick attended the Park Board meeting on May 14th.

Clerk-Treasurer Swisher stated that a letter had been dropped off by Peggy Dare today, May 27th, the letter discusses issues that can be related to the Fisken Plat that you will be voting on this evening and because this issue has had it’s open public comment period as well as a public hearing you will receive the letter after the meeting.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of May 13, 2014. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of May 13, 2014. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Consent Agenda:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the authorization of the Mayor’s signature to the Real Estate purchase and sale agreement with Alberg & Associates, Inc. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the authorization of the Mayor’s signature to Real Estate purchase and sale agreement with Alberg & Associates, Inc. for an amount up to $550,000 and additional funding for necessary closing costs. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED. There was Council discussion. Motion Carried.

 

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:

Mayor Colinas opened consideration of Resolution No. 546, Preliminary Plat for the Fisken Plat imposing terms and conditions. City Planner Gaudette gave an overview of the plat and the conditions set forth in the resolution. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 546, Preliminary Plat for the Fisken Plat imposing terms and conditions. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. There was Council discussion. Motion Carried.

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas asked Councilmember Gallagher to discuss the Library Board meeting and the sign proposal that had been forwarded to Council.

 

City Clerk-Treasurer handed out the letter received from Peggy Dare on May 27th.

 

Mayor Colinas asked City Planner Gaudette about the old trail coming from Old Poplar Highlands and if it will be necessary once sidewalks go in on the connecting plat.

 

Adjournment:

Councilmember Kaemingk made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried. Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 7:38:51 PM.
