Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:10 PM .

Roll Call: PRESENT:                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson and Nick.

ABSENT:                                    Councilmember Joplin.

STAFF:                                       Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Karen Giesen.

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Steel attended the ESCA Special Board meeting on June 5^th and an ESCA meeting on June 10^th.

Councilmember Steel reviewed the Bills on June 7^th.

Councilmember Nick will attend the Park Board meeting on June 11^th.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of May 27, 2014. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of May 27, 2014. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of June 3, 2014. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of June 3, 2014. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

New Business, Petitions, Communications, Applications & Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the appointment of Mayor Colinas as Alternate Representative to the ESCA Board. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the appointment of Mayor Colinas as Alternate Representative to the ESCA Board. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the appointment of Interim Chief Catlett as the Alternate Representative to the SNOCOM and SERS Boards. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the appointment of Interim Chief Catlett as the Alternate Representative to the SNOCOM and SERS Board.  Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for review and consideration of the Brier Park Asphalt Pathway bids. The Council discussed the two submittals of the Brier Park Asphalt Pathway bids.   Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to approve the Brier Park Asphalt Pathway bid to J. B. Asphalt not to exceed $50,000.00. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas reported that the 2006 Police car transmission is slipping and a second Police car is burning and leaking oil. FCI where we have purchased our last Police car has a 2010 reconditioned fully equipped Police car, with a one year warranty that we can purchase with a trade of the two cars that are going out for $7,637.00. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to authorize trading in the surplus Crown Victoria, (2 units) and replacing them with the fully equipped 2010 police unit with a cost not to exceed $7,800.00. Councilmember Olson SECONDED.  Motion Carried.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the May 2014 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the May 2014 Payroll Checks No. 27142 through No. 27161, Checks No. 27238 through No. 27262 and Checks No. 27266 through No. 27296 in the amount of $184,049.22. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the May 2014 Claim Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the May 2014 Claim Checks No. 27263 through No. 26265 and Checks No. 27297 through No. 27352 in the amount of $170,548.38 with voided Check No. 27213. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED.
