Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:02:56 PM and the flag salute was dispensed with.

Roll Call:                 

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Kaemingk, Krienke, Steele, Gallagher, Olson and Nick.

ABSENT:                                    Councilmember Joplin.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Annual update for Edmonds School District by Superintendent Nick Brossoit.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Kaemingk attended the Planning Commission meeting on August 20, 2014.

Councilmember Steele has had several meetings for ESCA with another special meeting to be held this coming Thursday.

Councilmember Nick attended the Park Board meeting prior to the SeaScare parade kick-off.

Mayor Colinas reported that he met with Snohomish County Fire District #1 to discuss the cost increase due to the finalization of their labor contracts. In addition, he reported on the aggressive action that we have taken to make repairs to the baseball fields.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 12, 2014. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 12, 2014. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Councilmember Steele was curious about the walking program and what the upcoming meeting is for.

Mayor Colinas reported that PUD will be changing out some old poles in Brierwood Park and that we are working with them to get all the documentation and information that we need before they begin the work.

Executive Session:

Mayor Colinas adjourned to Executive Session for approximately 20 minutes, pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(g) to evaluate or review the performance of a public employee, there will be no action taken.
