BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 10, 2015
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:01:10 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Gallagher, Joplin, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Olson and Steele.
STAFF: City
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Rich Troberg, Brier, he
brought in some historical items to share with the city that we can display at
our 50th anniversary celebration.
Tony Corrado, Brier,
touching base about the issue regarding our police department that was brought
up two weeks ago. He was disappointed that more people didn’t show up again
tonight. He asked if the process has changed since two weeks ago.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Nick stated that he has the Parks
Board meeting tomorrow evening February 11th.
Councilmember Steele stated that she attended a
January 29th ESCA meeting, February 7th reviewed the
claim checks and she has February 11th and 12th ESCA
meetings.
Councilmember Joplin attended the Snohomish Health
Board retreat on February 7th and attended their Board meeting
today.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of January 27, 2015. Councilmember
Nick made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of
January 27, 2015. Councilmember Steele SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Mayor Colinas opened for review the Annual Fee
Schedule and stated that he is not recommending any fee adjustments.
Executive
Session:
Mayor Colinas stated that the Council will go into Executive
Session for 15 minutes to discuss union negotiations per RCW 42.30.140(4)(a) at
7:40:32 PM.
The Council returned from Executive Session at 7:56:21 PM.
Mayor Colinas stated that we do not have any business to
bring to the Council at next week’s workshop meeting and asked if the Council
had anything they would like to work on next week or if they would like to
cancel the meeting. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to cancel the
Brier City Council Workshop meeting of February 17, 2015. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Councilmember Steele stated she will not be in attendance at
the meeting of February 24th.
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher handed out a letter that we received
from Snohomish County Fire District #1 regarding that they are putting a
measure on the ballot to establish a benefit charge. This would not affect any
of their contract cities citizens.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the January 2015
Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION
to approve the January 2015 Payroll Checks No. 28152 through No.28172
and No. 28248 through No. 28281 in the amount of $161,703.69. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the January 2015
Claim Checks. Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to approve the January 2015 Claim Checks No.
28300 through No. 28362 in the amount of $132,382.92.
Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Adjournment

declared the meeting adjourned at 8:03:48 PM .
