PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;

STAFF: City

Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Austin, Brier, asked for a flashing crosswalk
beacon at 32nd and 228th for safety because he has had a
personal experience where a car darted around him.
Tom Hanson, Brier, is here to find out what is
going on with the North Castle Way Annexation.
Tim Irvine, Brier, has lived in town for about 25
years and is concerned about what is going on with our police department. He
doesn’t feel that this is the time to consider getting rid of our police
department.
Austin, Brier, doesn’t think we should contract out
our police department because it will make for a longer response time.
Adam Gregorich, Brier, said Austin made a great
argument for the crosswalk beacons and he would like to encourage our purchase.
He congratulated Chief Catlett and the Brier officers for being named the 9th
safest city in the state. He asked about the difference between the mutual aid
agreement and the agreement in front of the Council this evening and how the priorities
of calls will be handled. He also asked will we be paying the $500/per hour for
the officer to testify regarding one of our calls or is it rolled into the
$500/per hour from the initial call.
