BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
August 25, 2015
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:00:55 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Gallagher, Joplin, Nick, Olson and Steele. Councilmember Krienke arrived at 7:05:26 PM.
ABSENT: Councilmember
Kaemingk.
STAFF: City
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher; City Planner Gaudette.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Steele attended an ESCA public
records request meeting on August 25th and she will be attending the
board meeting on August 27th.
Councilmember Nick met with the Parks Board on
August 12th to plan out and execute the SeaScare parade.
Consent
Agenda:
Mayor Colinas
opened for approval of the consent agenda which includes authorization of the
2015 Street Striping proposal from Snohomish County Public works in the amount
not to exceed $17,000 and authorization of the additional Sidewalk Trip Hazard
Mitigation by Precision Concrete Cutting not to exceed $12,000. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve
the consent agenda which includes authorization of the 2015 Street Striping
proposal from Snohomish County Public works in the amount not to exceed $17,000
and authorization of the additional Sidewalk Trip Hazard Mitigation by
Precision Concrete Cutting not to exceed $12,000.
Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Public
Hearings:
Mayor Colinas announced that the public hearing on
the Fisken Plat Modification is moot because the
developer rescinded the plat modification.
Ordinances,
Resolutions & Orders
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration of
Resolution No. 557, granting Preliminary Plat approval to the Estate of Dreams
Plat and imposing terms and conditions. City Planner Gaudette gave a brief
overview of the plat and conditions, along with the Planning Commission
recommendation. There was Council discussion. Councilmember
Nick made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 557, granting
Preliminary Plat approval to the Estate of Dreams Plat and imposing terms and
conditions. Councilmember Olson SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Mayor Colinas informed
the Council that we do not have business to discuss at next week’s workshop
meeting and asked if they would like to consider cancelling the meeting. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION to cancel the
Brier City Council Workshop Meeting of September 1, 2015. Councilmember
Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Councilmember
Steele asked if she is the only person who needs signs to find their way
through Locust Creek Park.
Councilmember Joplin agreed that he too would appreciate signs.
Councilmember
Nick gave a shout out to our Parks Board for putting on another great SeaScare
Parade event, and thanked staff and police for all their help in preparation as
well. He also mentioned that Brier Community Church
has closed it doors and combined with another church in Kenmore.
