BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
January 26, 2016
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:05:01 PM.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Gallagher, Joplin, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Olson and Steele.
STAFF: City
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Nick attempted to attend the Parks
Board meeting on January 13th, no one had a key to city hall and
there was not a quorum.
Councilmember Steele was communicating with Snohomish County to wrap up some of the loose ends
for ESCA’s shut down.
Councilmember Gallagher attended the Library Board
meeting on January 13th.
Councilmember Joplin attended the Community Transit
board meeting this week. He has been nominated by County Councilman Terry Ryan
to serve on the performance audit committee at Snohomish County.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of January 12, 2016. Councilmember
Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes
of January 12, 2016. Councilmember Steele SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Application Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of vehicle replacements
for 2016. Councilmember Krienke made a MOTION
to approve a vehicle replacement purchase for a new police vehicle from
FCI in an amount not to exceed $37,000. Councilmember
Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of fuel purchases in an
amount up to $15,000.00. Councilmember Gallagher made
a MOTION to approve fuel purchases in an amount up to $15,000.00. Councilmember Olson SECONDED. Motion
Carried.

Resolutions & Orders
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Ordinance No. 431,
amending Business Licensing. Councilmember Joplin
made a MOTION to approve Ordinance No. 431, amending Business
Licensing. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Ordinance No. 432,
amending Traffic Regulations. Councilmember Nick made
a MOTION to approve Ordinance No. 432, amending Traffic
Regulations. Councilmember Steele SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Councilmember Steele asked about the red paint
splashes on some of the trees along Old
Poplar Way.
Councilmember Krienke as Mayor Pro-Tem announced
his liaison appointments.
Mayor Colinas discussed items for our potential workshop
meeting next week. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to cancel the
February 2, 2016 Brier City Council Workshop meeting. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
