Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:55 PM and the flag salute was given.

Roll Call:

PRESENT:                                  Mayor Colinas; Councilmember Gallagher, Joplin, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick and Steele.

ABSENT:                                    Councilmember Olson.

STAFF:                                       City Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Bob Thorpe, Brier, recently we were in the news about a personnel matter, do you have anything else to add to the matter; another speculation was that there isn’t any coverage at night. The Mayor responded that the press release says all we have to say on the matter and we still have 24/7 coverage of the City.

Leeza Kilgore, Brier, will the City post something on the Brier Community page to dispel the rumors and speculation that we do not have coverage in the city at night.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Joplin and Mayor Colinas attended the Lake Forest Park Water District public meeting that was held here at City Hall last night.

Councilmember Nick met with the Parks Board on August 10^th for the SeaScare Parade.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of August 9, 2016. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of August 9, 2016. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

New Business, Petitions, Communcations, Application Appeals:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the bond release for the Neumann Short Plat erosion control. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the bond release for the Neumann Short Plat erosion control. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the Proclamation in honor of the 50^th Anniversary of Edmonds Community College. Councilmember Kaemingk made a MOTION to approve the Proclamation in honor of the 50^th Anniversary of Edmonds Community College. Councilmember Joplin SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the reappointment of Planning Commissioners Steven Scott and M.L. DeMorret. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to confirm the Mayor’s reappointments of Steven Scott and M.L. DeMorret to the Planning Commission. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion Carried.

Councilmember Nick gave a shout out to our Parks Board, Police Department, Public Works Department and Brier Pizza for their great efforts to make SeaScare a success.
