January 24, 2017
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:00:14 PM.
Roll Call:
PRESENT: Mayor Colinas;
Councilmember Gallagher, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Olson and Steele.
ABSENT: Councilmember
Joplin.
STAFF: City
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public

Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Kaemingk attended the Library Board
meeting on January 11th; he also attended the planner interview on
January 11th.
Councilmember Gallagher attended the Planning Commission
on January 18th.
Councilmember Krienke attended the planner
interview on January 11th.
Councilmember Steele came in to review claim checks
on January 21st.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of January 10, 2017. Councilmember
Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes
of January 10, 2017. Councilmember Steele SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of January 17, 2017. Councilmember
Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council
Workshop Minutes of January 17, 2017. Councilmember
Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Consent
Agenda:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the Neumann short Plat Tree
Assurance Bond release in the amount of $16,900.00. Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to approve the release of the Neumann short
Plat Tree Assurance Bond release in the amount of $16,900.00. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion
Carried.
New
Business:
Mayor Colinas opened confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Karl
Rosman to Planning Commission Position No. 1 with a term set to expire January
31, 2019. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION
to confirm the Mayor’s appointment of Karl Rosman to Planning Commission
Position No. 1 with a term set to expire January 31, 2019. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion
carried.
Mayor Colinas opened confirmation of the Mayor’s appointment of Rebekah
Weston to Planning Commission Position No. 2 with a term set to expire January 31,
2019. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to
confirm the Mayor’s appointment of Rebekah Weston to Planning Commission
Position No. 2 with a term set to expire January 31, 2019. Councilmember Kaemingk SECONDED. Motion
carried.

Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials
Councilmember Steele reported that there is a large
pothole at the end of Vine Road
and 216th.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the December 2016
Claim Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION
to approve the December 2016 Claim Checks No. 31152 through No. 31155 in
the amount of $11,378.89. Councilmember Olson SECONDED.
Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the January 2017
Claim Checks. Councilmember
Steele made a MOTION to approve the January 2017 Claim Checks No.
31189 through No. 31195 in the amount of $363,980.43.
Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.
Adjournment
Mayor Colinas declared the meeting adjourned at 7:08:57 PM.
