BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

May 9, 2017

Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00:41 PM and the flag salute was given.

 

Roll Call:

PRESENT:Mayor Colinas; Councilmembers Gallagher, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Steele and Thorpe.

ABSENT: Councilmember Joplin.

STAFF:City Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.

 

Public Requests & Oral Communications:

Update from Snohomish Health District and introduction of Interim Administrator, Jeff Ketchel.

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Steele came in on May 2nd to review the annual report and reviewed the claim checks on May 6th.

Councilmember Kaemingk will attend the Library Board meeting on May 10th.

Councilmember Nick will attend the Parks Board meeting on May 10th.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of April 25, 2017. Councilmember Thorpe made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Minutes of 2017. Councilmember Steele SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of May 2, 2017. Councilmember Gallagher made a MOTION to approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of May 2, 2017. Councilmember Nick SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Consent Agenda:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the consent agenda which includes the purchase of Digital Recording System from JCG Technologies in an amount not to exceed $4,490.00 plus tax and approval of the Interlocal Agreement with Snohomish Health district, releasing the interest in the Rucker building. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve the consent agenda as stated. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

 

 

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Resolution No. 564, establishing the Seasonal and Part-Time salary plan. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 564, establishing the Seasonal and Part-Time salary plan Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Ordinance No. 444, amending Brier Municipal Code Chapter 8.36, Junk and Inoperative Vehicles on property. Councilmember Nick made a MOTION to approve Ordinance No. 444, amending Brier Municipal Code Chapter 8.36, Junk and Inoperative Vehicles on property.  Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials

Councilmember Kaemingk made a MOTION to cancel the Council Workshop meeting on May 16th. Councilmember Gallagher SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Councilmember Steele heard gunshots on Vine Rd/Old Poplar Rd on Saturday morning and again around noon.

 

Auditing of Accounts

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the April 2017 Payroll Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the April 2017 Payroll Checks No. 31578 through 31596 and No. 31601 through 31633 in the amount of $137,282.28. Councilmember Krienke SECONDED. Motion Carried.

 

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the April 2017 Claim Checks. Councilmember Steele made a MOTION to approve the April 2017 Claim Checks No. 31597 through 31600, No. 31634 through No. 31700 in the amount of $146,902.34.  Councilmember Thorpe SECONDED. Motion Carried.
