BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
June 27, 2017
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:09 PM.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Colinas,
Councilmembers Gallagher, Joplin, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick and Steele. Councilmember
Thorpe arrived at 7:17 PM.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Mayor Colinas stated for the record that prior to
the start of the meeting Snohomish County Councilman Terry Ryan presented a
check for $3,200.00 from the Snohomish County Council to the City of Brier and
Boy Scout Troop #60. The grant money will be used for the Locust Creek Park
Trail Renovation.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of June 20, 2017. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Minutes
of June 20, 2017. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded
by Councilmember Gallagher.
Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of June 20, 2017. Motion: Approve the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of June 20, 2017. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Steele.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of
the Bid from JB Asphalt for Overlays in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00 Motion: Approve the Bid from JB Asphalt
for overlays in the amount not to exceed $20,000.00. Moved by Councilmember Steele, Seconded
by Councilmember Joplin. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the forwarding
of the draft amendments to the Brier Comprehensive Plan to the State for
review. Motion: To forward the draft
amendments of the Brier Comprehensive Plan to the State for review. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion

Business, Petitions, Communications, Application Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration of the
Professional Service Agreements for the
Music in the Park Performers. Motion:
Approve the Professional Service Agreements for the Music in the Park featuring
Buzz Brump, Robert J. Turner / Centerpiece, Clayton Kaiser / The Mighty
Dreadful and Paradise Sound Company. Moved
by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded
by Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas stated that Parks Board Chairman Ken
Overstreet is requesting $300 for 8 double sided signs for advertising National
Night Out and Music in the Park.All
councilmembers were supportive, provided the signs are proof read and there is
no copyright violation by the use of the McGruff the Crime Dog.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration to cancel
the July 4, 2017 Council Workshop Meeting.Motion: To cancel the July 4,

Mayor Colinas gave the Council information regarding Rain
Gardens. There was Council discussion.
