Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and the flag salute was given.

Roll Call:

Present: Mayor Colinas, Councilmembers Gallagher, Joplin, Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Steele, Thorpe.

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Mayor Colinas advised staff to purchase fuel, in the amount of $13,334.40.

Councilmember Steele reviewed checks on Saturday, December 8^th.

Councilmember Thorpe stated the Christmas tree lighting was a success.

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of November 27, 2018. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Minutes of November 27, 2018. Moved by Councilmember Nick. Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.

Unfinished Business:

Mayor Colinas opened for discussion and consideration of the Agreement with Snohomish County 911 for the leasing of police car laptops with a 5-year agreement. Motion: Approve the agreement with Snohomish County 911 for the leasing of police car laptops with a 5-year agreement. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Steele. Motion Carried.

Hearings:

Mayor Colinas opened the Public Hearing on Ordinance No. 457, regarding Short Term Rentals. Mayor Colinas opened the Public Hearing at 7:14 PM. Julie O'Donald of Brier stated that she appreciated the council's effort regarding short term rentals. Mayor Colinas closed the Public Hearing at 7:16 PM.

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of Ordinance No. 457, regarding Short Term Rentals. Motion: Approve Ordinance No. 457, regarding Short Term Rentals. Moved by Councilmember Steele, Seconded by Councilmember Krienke. Councilmember Joplin and Councilmember Gallagher voting against Ordinance no. 457. Motion Carried.

Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Council discussed cancelling the workshop meeting next week, Mayor Colinas stated he would like to keep the meeting on the calendar.

Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the November 2018 Payroll Checks. Motion: Approve the November 2018 Payroll Checks No. 40109 through No. 40110, Checks No. 40169 through No. 40179, Check No. 40217 and EFTs in the amount of $142,356.35 and voided Check No. 40168. Moved by Councilmember Steele, Seconded by Councilmember Thorpe. Motion Carried.

Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the November 2018 Claim Checks. Motion: Approve the November 2018 Claim Checks No. 40215 and 40216, Checks No. 40221 through No. 40263 in the amount of $124,968.28 and voided Check No. 40141. Moved by Councilmember Steele, Seconded by Councilmember Thorpe. Motion Carried.
