BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
March 26, 2019
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk called the regular Brier
City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and the flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Councilmember Gallagher, Councilmember Joplin,
Councilmember Kaemingk, Councilmember Nick, Councilmember Steele, Councilmember
Thorpe. Councilmember Krienke arrived at 7:18 PM.
Absent: Mayor Colinas.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Marilyn Joplin, Brier, expressed that there is a
problem at Brier Elementary with cars sitting in the crosswalk and cars
stopping in the intersection.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk introduced Library Board
Chair, Dan Hackney, Brier. He wanted to say thank you to the Council on behalf
of the Library Board for the signage on the Library. He requested that there be
external lighting added to illuminate the sign on the building.
Councilmember Steele reviewed checks on March 24th.
Councilmember Thorpe attended the March 13th
Parks Board Meeting. July 10th will be our music in the park event.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk
opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of March
12, 2019. Motion: Approve the Brier
City Council Minutes of March 12, 2019. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
Hearings:
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk opened the Public Hearing at
7:15 PM for Resolution No. 574, adopting a New Fee Schedule, Amend Existing
Fees, Amend Wording, adopting the State Legislature's Statutory Default Fees
and Costs for Copies of Public Records and Repeal Resolution No. 563. Closed
Hearing at 7:18 PM.

Resolutions & Orders:
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk opened for consideration
approval of Resolution No. 574, adopting a New Fee Schedule, Amend Existing
Fees, Amend Wording, adopting the State Legislature's Statutory Default Fees
and Costs for Copies of Public Records and Repeal Resolution No. 563. Motion:
Approve Resolution No. 574, adopting a New Fee Schedule, Amend Existing Fees,
Amend Wording, adopting the State Legislature's Statutory Default Fees and
Costs for Copies of Public Records and Repeal Resolution No. 563. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Steele. Motion
Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember Nick asked about the cancellation of
National Night Out.
Councilmember Steele asked if the carcass of the
dead bunny across the street from Peterson's house be removed from the area
where the tree fell a few years ago.
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher stated that there is no
business for the April 2nd workshop meeting. Motion: Cancel the April 2nd Workshop Meeting. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Pro-Tem Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the March 2019
Claim Checks.Motion:
Approve the March 2019 Claim Checks No. 40535 through No. 40568 in the
amount of $78,100.64. Moved by Councilmember
Steele, Seconded by Councilmember
Thorpe. Motion Carried.
Adjournment

declared the meeting adjourned at 7:25 PM.
