BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
April 14, 2020
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:04 PM.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Colinas,
Councilmembers Gallagher, Krienke, Nick and Thorpe.
Telephonic: Councilmembers Joplin, Kaemingk and Steele.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Joplin attended the Board of Health
meeting today, April 14th.
Councilmember Kaemingk attended the Police
negotiations on April 1st, attended the internal Police negotiations discussion
on April 9th, reviewed claim checks on April 11th and will attend the Police
negotiations on April 16th.
Councilmember Gallagher attended the Community Transit
meeting on April 2nd.
Councilmember Krienke attended the Police
negotiations on April 1st, attended the internal Police negotiations discussion
on April 9th and will attend the Police negotiations on April 16th.
Councilmember Thorpe attended the Parks Board
Easter parade on April 12th and it was a great
success.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council
Minutes of March 24, 2020. Motion: Approve the
Brier City Council Minutes of March 24, 2020. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Application Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the
release of the Land Disturbing Activity Bond in the amount of $47,984.40 for
Ryan Grenz, located at 2233 N Castle Way. Motion: Approve the release of the Land
Disturbing Activity Bond in the amount of $47,984.40 for Ryan Grenz, located at 2233 N Castle Way. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Krienke. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the release of the
Land Disturbing Activity Bond in the amount of $18,630.00 and the Tree
Performance Assurance Bond in the amount of $42,000.00 for Arcadia Homes, Gayle
Project located at 2526 231st ST SW. Motion:
Approve the
release of the Land Disturbing Activity Bond in the
amount of $18,630.00 for Arcadia Homes, Gayle Project located at 2526 231st ST
SW. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded by Councilmember Steele.
Motion Carried.
Motion: Approve Tree
Performance Assurance Bond in the amount of $42,000.00 for Arcadia homes, Gayle
Project located at 2526 231st St SW. Moved by Councilmember Thorpe, Seconded
by Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Colinas stated there is no business to bring
to the April 21st Council Workshop. Motion: Cancel the April 21st Council Workshop meeting. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
Councilmember Nick stated that in a Shoreline news
article Brier is listed as the most returns for the census in Washington State
so far. He asked if we are being financially hit like other cities, the Mayor's
answer was no we are not. He also inquired on behalf of the Library Board if
the sign on the building will be lit.
Councilmember Steele asked if Verdant Health is
doing anything to help with the Corona Virus.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2020
Payroll Checks Motion:
Approve the March 2020 Payroll Checks No. 41535 through No. 41537 and
EFT transactions in the amount of $141,921.95. Moved by Councilmember Kaemingk, Seconded by Councilmember Joplin. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the March 2020 Claim
Checks Motion:
Approve the March 2020 Claim Checks No. 41538 through No. 41580 and EFT
transactions in the amount of $117,546.59 and voided Check No. 41466. Moved by Councilmember Kaemingk, Seconded by Councilmember Steele. Motion Carried.
