BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
May 26, 2020
Mayor Colinas called the regular Brier City Council
Meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Colinas, Councilmembers Gallagher, Joplin,
Kaemingk, Krienke, Nick, Steele and Thorpe.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher
Public

Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Councilmember Kaemingk attended the May 20th
police negotiations and reviewed the Claim Checks on May 22nd.
Councilmember Joplin attended six meetings with the
health board in May.
Councilmember Krienke attended the May 20th
police negotiations.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of May 12, 2020. Motion:
Approve the Brier City Council Minutes of May 12, 2020. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded
by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
New
Business, Petitions, Communications, Application Appeals:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the release of the Land
Disturbing Activity Bond for SP18-01 located at 2529 236th ST SW by
Arcadia Homes in the amount of $26,739.00. Motion:
Approve consideration the release of the Land Disturbing Activity Bond for
SP18-01 located at 2529 236th ST SW by Arcadia Homes in the amount
of $26,739.00. Moved by
Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by
Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the release
of the Erosion Control Bond related to 22815 27th Ave W by Greg
Floyd, in the amount of $24,900.00. Motion: Approve the release of the

the amount of $24,900.00. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the release
of the Park Landscape Maintenance Bond for the Wynbrook
SUB 08-01 in the amount of $22,120.28. Motion: Approve the release of the Park
Landscape Maintenance Bond for the Wynbrook SUB 08-01
in the amount of $22,120.28. Moved by
Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by
Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration the release
of the Maintenance Bond for the Boseck Short Plat
SP15-002, located at 21825 Vine Road in the amount of $16,449.75. Motion: Approve the release of the
Maintenance Bond for the Boseck Short Plat SP15-002,
located at 21825 Vine Road in the amount of $16,449.75. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Joplin. Motion Carried.
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration to authorize
the Mayor's Signature on the Business Licensing Services Agreement. Motion: Approve to authorize the
Mayor's Signature on the Business Licensing Services Agreement. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Colinas asked if the Council would like to
discuss the one item that we have for workshop on June 2nd or
discuss it at the next regular meeting. The
Council asked to combine it with the next regular meeting. Motion: Cancel the Brier City Council Workshop meeting of June 2nd.
Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
Councilmember Joplin asked if there will be a
revenue impact due to the COVID-19. The Mayor stated that yes
we will see some revenue shortfalls related to COVID-19.
Mayor Colinas stated he has been in contact with
the Parks Board and that Music in the Park is cancelled but they are holding
out hope to be able to hold SeaScare.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Colinas opened for consideration approval of the May 2020 Claim
Checks. 7:18 PM Motion:
Approve the May 2020 Claim Checks No. 41658 through No. 41659, Checks
No. 41664 through No. 41686 and EFT transactions in
the amount of $333,519.17. Moved by Councilmember Kaemingk, Seconded by Councilmember Krienke. Motion Carried.
