BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

December 8, 2020

Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM


Roll Call:


Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers Gallagher, Joplin, Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, Nick and Rosman.


Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Snowden.


Public Requests & Oral Communications: None


Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Councilmember Krienke talked about the trouble the City is having today accessing our website, sending/receiving external email and connecting to the server externally. He is working with our IT person on the problem troubleshooting the problem. Council discussion regarding updating the City website.

Councilmember Nick reviewed claims on Dec 7th.

Councilmember Gallagher attended a Community Transit meeting last week.


Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of November 24, 2020. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Minutes of November 24, 2020. Moved by: Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by: Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.


Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of December 1, 2020. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Minutes of December 1, 2020. Moved by: Councilmember Nick, Seconded by: Councilmember Lockhart. Motion Carried.


Consent Agenda:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration of the Snohomish County Drug Task Force Agreement and Amendments. Motion: Approve the Snohomish County Drug Task Force Agreement and Amendments. Moved by: Councilmember Joplin, Seconded by: Councilmember Marley. Motion Carried.


Consideration of BIDS, L.I.D.S & Related Matters:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration to award the BID and authorize the Mayor's signature on the subsequent contract for the Allview Sewer Repairs to Arzate Contractors in an amount not to exceed $53,698.56. Motion: Approve the BID and authorize the Mayor's signature on the subsequent contract for the Allview Sewer Repairs to Arzate Contractors in an amount not to exceed $53,698.56. Moved by: Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by: Councilmember Joplin. Motion Carried.


Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Council discussion regarding the 216th/Poplar Way lane and crosswalk adjustments and the possibility of having Pace Engineering do a traffic study.

Councilmember Joplin shared that his position on the Snohomish County Health board will end at the end of December 2020. Mayor Kaemingk asked if he would continue to monitor the meetings.

Mayor Kaemingk will meet with Rep. Rick Larson next week.


Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the November 2020 Payroll Checks. Motion: Approve the November 2020 Payroll Checks No. 42147 through No. 42149 and EFT transactions in the amount of $154,612.88. Moved by: Councilmember Nick, Seconded by: Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.


Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the November 2020 Claim Checks. Motion: Approve the November 2020 Claim Checks No. 42180 through No. 42183, Checks No. 42185 through No. 42215 and EFT transactions in the amount of $173,649.56 and voided Check No. 42184. Moved by: Councilmember Nick, Seconded by: Councilmember Joplin. Motion Carried.

Mayor Kaemingk declared the meeting adjourned at 7:32 PM.
