BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
March 22, 2022
Mayor Kaemingk called the
regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk,
Councilmember Gallagher, Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, Moran, Nick, Rosman.
Staff Present:
Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Snowden, City Planner Flathman.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk has
continued to gather information regarding the Fire Contract. The Mayor asked Chief Almquist to discuss
the Legislative update regarding the reclassifying of weapons that can be used
within police departments.
Councilmember Marley attended the Planning
Commission meeting on March 16th.
Councilmember Nick met with Chief Almquist on March 21st.
Councilmember Gallagher reviewed claims on March 14th.
Approval
of Minutes:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration

Mayor Kaemingk opened for
consideration approval of the Replacement Vehicle for Public Works from Bud
Clary, in an amount not to exceed $26,000.00. Motion: Approve the Replacement Vehicle for Public Works from Bud

Mayor Kaemingk opened for
consideration approval of the Street Striping Bid from Specialized Pavement

Business, Petitions, Communications, Application Appeals:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval
to
change Ownership of the Developer Extension Agreement for Brier Landing,
located at 22610 Brier Road and to authorize the Mayor's
signature. City Planner Flathman gave a brief
overview of agreement. Motion: Approve

Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk
opened for consideration approval of the Miyata Secondary
Dwelling Unit, Conditional Use Permit #CU22-01, located at 22301 Hickory Way.

Planner Flathman gave a brief overview. Motion
Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration confirmation
of the Mayor's Appointment of Shawn Parsons to Planning Commission, Position
No. 7 with a term set to expire on July 31, 2024. Motion: Confirm the Mayor's Appointment of Shawn Parsons to
Planning Commission, Position No. 7 with a term set to expire on July 31, 2024.
Moved by Councilmember Marley, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion
Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk reminded
council that next week is the 5th Tuesday of the month so there is
not a meeting.
Councilmember Nick received an email from Senator
Stanford following up on House Bill 1660 to confirm that the Bill has died in session.
Councilmember Moran asked if more meetings
regarding the status of the fire contract will be happening in the future.
Mayor Kaemingk confirmed.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration
approval of the March 2022 Claim Checks.
Approve
the March 2022 Claim Checks No. 43533 through No. 43566 in the amount of $416,543.77. Moved by
Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by
Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.
Adjournment
Mayor Kaemingk adjourned the meeting to
Workshop at 7:29 PM.
