BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
July 26, 2022
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order 7:00 PM and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers
Gallagher, Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, Moran, Nick, Rosman.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher, Deputy Clerk Snowden, Police Chief Almquist.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Rebecca Miner, Interim Superintendent at the
Edmonds School District. Wanted to take the opportunity to introduce herself
and offer any assistance she could within the community.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Chief Almquist gave an update on the progress and preparation
of National Night Out and the Police Department as a whole.
Councilmember Gallagher reviewed claims checks on
July 25th.
Councilmember Rosman observed the Sno. Isle Library board meeting on July 25th and Sno. Co. Planning meeting on July 26th.

Council Minutes of July 12, 2022. Motion:

Councilmember Lockhart. Motion Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Workshop Minutes of July 19, 2022. Motion:
Approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of July 19, 2022. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Marley. Motion Carried.
Consent
Agenda:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the contract for Planning Services with Puget Sound
Planning. Lee Michaelis with Puget Sound Planning introduced himself and
gave a brief background. Council discussion. Motion: Approve the contract for Planning Services with Puget Sound
Planning. Moved by Councilmember
Marley, Seconded by Councilmember
Rosman. Motion Carried.
Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of
Resolution No. 591 to Surplus Property. Motion: Approve Resolution No. 591 to
Surplus Property. Moved by
Councilmember Marley, Seconded by
Councilmember Krienke. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration to cancel
the Council Workshop meeting on August 2nd. Motion: Approve the cancellation of the Council Workshop meeting on
August 2nd. Moved by Councilmember
Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember
Rosman. Motion Carried.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the July 2022 Claim
Checks. Motion: Approve the
July 2022 Claim Checks No. 43878 through No. 43883, Checks No. 43885 through
No. 43910 and EFT Transaction in the amount of
$93,514.10. Voided Check No. 43374. Reason: Past
6-month date, reissued with Check No. 43884. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.
Executive Session:
Mayor
Kaemingk excused the Council to Executive Session Pursuant to RCW
42.30.110(1)(d).
Motion: Approve to excuse Council
into executive session for approximately 30 minutes at 7:28 PM. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by
Councilmember Marley. Motioned Carried. Council returned from executive session
at 8:03 PM.

Mayor Kaemingk declared the meeting adjourned at 8:04 PM
