BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

October 25, 2022

Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM

 

Roll Call:

Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers Gallagher, Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, Moran, Nick, Rosman.

Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher, Interim City Planner Michaelis, Utility Billing Clerk Zenk, Police Chief Almquist.

Public Requests & Oral Communications: None.

 

Reports of Committees & City Officials:

Chief Almquist gave a brief update on the police cars and shared that they conducted an oral board with 4 applicants today.

Mayor Kaemingk went on a ride along with Chief Almquist this week.

Councilmember Marley attended the Planning Commission on Oct 19th.

Councilmember Rosman attended the Snohomish County Planning Commission Meeting tonight.

Councilmember Gallagher reviewed claim checks this week.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Minutes of October 11, 2022. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Minutes of October 11, 2022. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded by Councilmember Rosman. Motion Carried.


Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of October 18, 2022. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of October 18, 2022. Moved by Councilmember Lockhart, Seconded by Councilmember Krienke. Motion Carried.


New Business:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of CAR22-01 Telesca, Reasonable Use Exception located at 21227 Poplar Way. Interim City Planner Michaelis gave a brief overview of the application. Council had discussion with present staff and applicant. Motion: Approve CAR22-01 Telesca, Reasonable Use Exception located at 21227 Poplar Way. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Marley. Motion Carried.


Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of MOUs with the Teamsters Union No. 117 & Liuna Laborers Union No. 242, for cost of living adjustments in 2023. Motion: Approve MOUs with the Teamsters Union No. 117 & Liuna Laborers Union No. 242, for cost of living adjustments in 2023. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.

 

Ordinances, Resolutions & Orders:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of Resolution No. 593, declaring certain property as surplus. Motion: Approve Resolution No. 593, declaring certain property as surplus. Moved by Councilmember Marley, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion Carried.


Miscellaneous Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:

Mayor Kaemingk confirmed that there will be a Workshop meeting next week.


Auditing of Accounts:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the October 2022 Claim Checks. Motion: Approve the October 2022 Claim Checks No. 44115 through No. 44119, Checks No. 44125 through No. 44156 and EFT transaction in the amount of $122,991.94. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Rosman. Motion Carried.

Mayor Kaemingk declared the meeting adjourned at 7:19 PM.
