BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
May 23, 2023
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk,
Councilmembers Gallagher, Krienke, Lockhart, Moran,
Nick and Rosman.
Absent: Councilmember Marley.
Staff: Clerk-Treasurer Swisher
and Utility Clerk Zenk
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
William Bartig, Brier-addressed a statement
Councilmember Lockhart made regarding his general opinion of Police at the last
workshop meeting. He also stated that he appreciated the information that Chief
Almquist and Lieutenant Ridout shared at the last workshop meeting.
Hisham Othman, Brier-Would like to know when the
State Auditors report would be published to the public.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmember Rosman and
Councilmember Moran joined in on the State Auditors Exit Interview today and
gave a brief overview.
Mayor Kaemingk attended a Mayors Meeting this week
and met with Chief Almquist and the Snohomish County Sheriff to discuss
coverage.
Councilmember Krienke attended the Planning
Commission meeting on the 17th.
Councilmember Gallagher met with Public Works today.
Councilmember Rosman attended the Parks Board
meeting on the 16th and the Snohomish County Planning Committee
meeting tonight.

Motion: Approve
the Brier City Council Minutes of May 9, 2023. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded
by Councilmember Lockhart. Motion Carried.

opened for consideration approval of the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of
May 16, 2023. Motion: Approve the Brier City Council Workshop Minutes of
May 16, 2023. Moved by Councilmember
Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember
Krienke. Motion Carried.
Consent
Agenda:
Mayor Kaemingk
opened for consideration approval to renew the
Interlocal Agreement with Snohomish County Solid Waste Services. Motion: Approve to renew the Interlocal
Agreement with Snohomish County Solid Waste Services. Moved by Councilmember Nick, Seconded
by Councilmember Rosman. Motion Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of
the expenditure for D&S Enterprises in an amount not to exceed $15,000 to
level Brier Park. Motion: Approve
the expenditure for D&S Enterprises and any additional materials needed to
be purchased by the city in an amount not to exceed $15,000 to level Brier
Park. Moved by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded by
Councilmember Rosman. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember Gallagher shared that the next workshop
meeting will be in 2 weeks.
Councilmember Rosman encouraged everyone to view
the legislative webinar online and shared that volunteers are needed for National
Night Out.
City Clerk-Treasurer Swisher let the council know
that the drug ordinance is being reviewed, but will
most likely be delayed.
Auditing
of Accounts:
Mayor Kaemingk
opened for consideration approval of the May 2023 Claim Checks. Motion: Approve the May 2023 Claim Checks No. 44693 through
No. 44696, Checks No. 44701 through No. 44727 and EFT
transaction in the amount of $96,646.18. Moved by Councilmember Gallagher, Seconded by Councilmember Nick. Motion
Carried.
