BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
August 13, 2024
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers Krienke,
Marley, Gallagher, Lockhart, Allen, and Othman.
Absent: Councilmember Rosman.
Staff: City Planner Michaelis.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Rebecca Miner-Edmonds
School District Superintendent, introduced herself to the council and stated that
she likes to go around to the different jurisdictions to touch base and
connect. She also wanted to let the council know that Brier Terrace Middle
School has a new administration this school year.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk
shared that Seascare is tomorrow. He also shared that
National Night Out was a success last week and we will be looking for a new
sound system for next year's event.
Mayor Kaemingk attended the Mayor's
meeting and Department of Emergency Management this week.
Councilmember Lockhart
reviewed Claims.
Approval

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City
Council Minutes of July 23, 2024. to 7:08 PM Motion: Approve the Brier City

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval to
release the Performance Bond for the Phillips Ridge Sewer Extension located at
22015 Old Poplar Way, in the amount of $17,046.15. 7:09 PM Motion: Approve release the Performance
Bond for the Phillips Ridge Sewer Extension located at 22015 Old Poplar Way, in
the amount of $17,046.15, Moved by
Councilmember Marley, Seconded by
Councilmember Krienke. Motion Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval to
release the Performance Bond for the Phillips Ridge Right of Way improvements
located at 22015 Old Poplar Way, in the amount of $123,389.50. 7:10 PM Motion: Approve release the Performance
Bond for the Phillips Ridge Right of Way improvements located at 22015 Old Poplar

by Councilmember Krienke, Seconded

Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk said the Aug 20th
Workshop is still being held. He shared that the city is still looking for a
Building Official and a new Police Officer started today.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the July 2024
Payroll Checks. 7:14 PM Motion:
Approve the July 2024 Payroll Checks No. 45875 through No.45878 and EFT transactions in the amount of
$175,210.07, Moved
by Councilmember Lockhart, Seconded
by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion Carried.
Mayor Kaemingk opened for
consideration approval of the July 2024 Claim Checks. 7:14 PM Motion:
Approve the July 2024 Claim Checks No. 45874, Check No. 45880 through
No. 45917 in the amount of $411,052.23 and voided check No. 45879. Reason:
printed incorrectly, reissued with Check No. 45880, Moved by Councilmember Lockhart, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. Motion
Carried.
