BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 24, 2026
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order at 7:01 PM and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk Councilmembers Allen, Gallagher,
Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, Othman and Parsons,
Staff: City Clerk-Treasurer Swisher and City Planner Lee
Michaelis.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Alyson Templeton, Brier-Interested in better bus
service in Brier and would like help finding a new location for the Brier Food Pantry. She would
like to see Brier expand its commercial zone to help bring in more revenue for the
city and also asked about food trucks and Airbnb's for
added revenue in Brier.
Scott McGilton, Brier-Asked about food trucks in
Brier as a source of revenue.
Rodrigo Sepulveda, Brier-Concerned about the city
shortfall and thinks that the levy lift lid would have a greater chance of
passing if the city asked for a smaller percentage. He would also like to appeal the 10% utility tax that has been added to the
sewer/storm bills. He asked on his neighbor's behalf, when the Brier Park
restroom project would be completed.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk attended the Mayor's Exchange in
Olympia and shared legislative ideas. He also met with the Mayor of Pacific
about policing issues, Mayors of Gold Bar and Woodway to discuss the Housing
Accountability Act, attended 2 Snohomish County Mayor's meetings, regional
aquatics board meeting, Snohomish County 911 meeting, Board of Health meeting
regarding Pop-up Food Vendors and went to the new Lynnwood jail with Chief
Hawley.
Councilmember Parsons has been attending meetings
with the Mayor and Pace Engineer, John Forba, about Brier Park Restrooms, which
he thinks will be completed by the end of the year. He attended the Park Board meeting,
and they discussed the upcoming Egg Hunt. He also addressed the Public Works
leaking roof and the possibility to repurpose the basketball court for multiple
functions.
Councilmember Krienke discussed the Public Works
leaking roof, met with Chief Hawley to review a policy document, worked on the
new City website with the Vendor and attend the City
staff meeting.
Councilmember Marley met with Chief to go over
department documents.
Councilmember Allen listened to an AWC Legislative
phone call.
Councilmember Gallagher attend
Community Transit and reviewed Checks.
Councilmember Othman attended the Planning
Commission meeting.

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of the Brier City

by Councilmember Allen. Motion Carried.

Business:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of
the second plat alteration for the plat of Brier Landing (PM26-01) located at
3103, 3107, 3113, 3117, 3123, & 3126 227th Pl SW. City Planner Lee
Michaelis gave a brief overview of the modifications: Approve the second plat alteration for the plat of Brier Landing
(PM26-01) located at 3103, 3107, 3113, 3117, 3123, & 3126 227th Pl SW, Moved by Councilmember Parsons, Seconded by Councilmember Gallagher. There
was Council discussion. Motion Carried.
Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher
told Council that there will be a workshop meeting on March 3rd.
Mayor Kaemingk thanked
the audience for attending.
