Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:01:17 PM .

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:            Commissioner Funk, Lavoie, Marley, Olson, Joplin, Thorpe and Smith.

ABSENT:            None.

STAFF:            Dir. Comm. Dev. & Planning Cutts.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie opened for consideration approval of the December 19, 2007 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Marley moved and Commissioner Olson seconded to approve the December 19, 2007 Planning Commission minutes as written. Commissioner Lavoie and Joplin abstained. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Krienke gave a brief overview of what the City Council has been doing.  Commissioner Joplin introduced himself to Planning Commission.

NEW BUSINESS – PUBLIC HEARINGS:

Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie opened for consideration the election for a Planning Commission Chair. Commissioner Smith moved and Commissioner Olson seconded to elect Commissioner Marley as Planning Commission Chair. Carried 7-0, none abstained. Motion Carried.

Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie opened for consideration the election for a Planning Commission Chair. Commissioner Funk moved and Commissioner Smith seconded to elect Commissioner Thorpe as Planning Commission Chair Pro Tem. Carried 7-0, none abstained. Motion Carried.

Commissioner Marley excused himself from the meeting due to illness at 7:11:51 PM.

OLD BUSINESS:

Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie opened for discussion of the Planning Commission Annual Report. Commissioners agreed with the annual report and Director of Community Development Jim Cutts will pass it on to City Council.

Chairman Pro Tem Lavoie opened for discussion of the previous code change recommendations made by the Planning Commission.  There was discussion amongst the Commissioners. The Planning Commissioners agreed to revisit 1 through 6 of the code changes at the next regular meeting in February, and 7 through 12 of the code changes in March.
