Chairman Marley called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:05:01 PM

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Commissioner Marley, Olson, Joplin and Scott; Councilmember Kaemingk. Commissioner Thorpe arrived at 7:10:06 PM.

ABSENT: Commissioner Smith and Magnuson.

STAFF: City Planner Gaudette.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Chairman Marley opened for consideration approval of the May 20, 2009 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Joplin made a MOTION to approve the May 20, 2009 Planning Commission minutes as written.  Commissioner Scott SECONDED. Motion Carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Councilmember Kaemingk reported on recent City Council activity.

PUBLIC REQUESTS & ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:

Peggy Dare 22320 Hickory Way - commented that she would like to see the public more involved with short plat approvals; she would like to see more park trail connections; and does not want to see the current parks level of service decreased.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chainman Marley opened for discussion the park mitigation and level of service. City Planner Gaudette reviewed what is currently in the Comprehensive Plan and suggested what needs to be changed. Commissioner Thorpe made a MOTION to ask Councilmember Kaemingk to approach the City Council to request to hire a consultant to look into updating the parks level of service. Commissioner Joplin SECONDED. Motion carried.

City Planner Gaudette addressed the need to update the Capital Facility Plan in the Comprehensive Plan. She went over what changes will need to be updated.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

City Planner Gaudette advised the Commissioners of the date and time of the Public Hearing on June 29^th at 7:00pm for the Sunbrook Appeal.
